The Road to the Cotton Bowl for the 15th ranked Western Michigan began with a speech to the team in January about how far they could go and he ended it with a logo flashed onto a wall. It was a cotton bowl logo.

Fast forward to present day and the Broncos remain undefeated at 13-0 and are the Mid-American Conference Champions. "We wanted to at least show them what the expectations were going to become," Head Coach P.J. Fleck said Sunday afternoon. "Who would've thought, here we are accepting a bid to the Cotton Bowl?

For the #8 ranked Wisconsin Badgers, the road to the Cotton Bowl was nearly as perfect after finishing the season a 10-3 record, and for the Badgers it is their 15th consecutive bowl bid and first appearance in the Cotton Bowl for the Big Ten West Division Champions. "I'm excited for our players to have the opportunity to be a part of a game with the long and storied history like the Cotton Bowl has," UW head coach Paul Chryst said. "This game has featured a number of great programs and great players throughout the years and we are proud to now have a chance to be a part of that history.

"I appreciate what our players have done to earn the right to play in this game. Western Michigan has had a tremendous year and will present a terrific challenge for us. I look forward to starting our prep and having one more opportunity with this great group of players."
